Girl Online by Zoella

So aparently I’m one of the very few people who had never heard of the vlogger Zoella before. Last week at school, my friend showed up with this really cool book, and I asked to take a look. I read the first chapter and simply fell in love with it.

The book called “Girl Online” written by Zoella, talks about Penny, a british girl (just like Zoe) that runs an anynomous blog (just like me) and has these panic attacks ever since she was in a car accident. After a huuuuge embarrassment in school, she gets a chance to fly out for Christmas in the U.S with her parents. There she meets Noah, a boy that also has a secret, and obviously, they fall in love.

I did not expected such a good story, so original and so exiting as it is! I really rellated to Penny, the way she feels about love and life in general, with her secret blog, and I am now dreaming of one day living an adventure just like hers.

Zoella is a really great vlogger, really similar to Bethany Mota (who I love). She has a gorgeous boyfriend that also has a youtube chanel: Pointless Blog, and shows up in plenty os Zoe’s videos. I really have fallen for her, as everybody else!

“May the best woman win!”

rupaul

So I may have found out what was making me feel so sad/depressive these past few days: the lack of time to watch movies and series or read a really good book (except for the fact I had fought with some good friends of mine, and my mom was driving me crazy). And vacation have given me this much needed time.

So I decided to start watching ‘RuPaul’ and, oh my GOD, it’s amazing. An awesome Drag Queen helping other Drag Queens to become the next Drag Queen Superstar, as crazy as that sounds, it’s pretty cool.

At first I thought it would be strange to watch it, because even though I have ZERO prejudice, it’s so strange to see a man turn into this gorgeous women and then into a men again. I just couldn’t come up with an explanation to it, or a reason for them to do such a thing, and felt weird to watch it happen. But when I actually went through a hole episode, I understood. Those men out there, they have an escape. A new personality, with a different look and a new name, gives them an escape from reallity, from the everyday pressures and troubles that we all want to get away from.

Right then and there I identified with all of them, on how sometimes I don’t feel like myself in my own body, and I just want to get away. Just like them, everyday I fill my face with a lot of make up to hide all my flaws I can’t stand, but me been a girl, makes it ok. I also am about to where a wig (I’m going to buy one this month), and I have this blog no one knows about, my very on escape, so how much am I really different from them?

Every episode you get more n more courage to be yourself. Like RuPaul says ‘Anybody who steps out the house with a pair of high heels and a wig is my hero’.

Rate: ****
